I wanted to provide an update regarding Violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Whitechapel and Shadwell SNT officers have attended an address in the Whitechapel area after reports of this location being used to exploit women, as well as the locks being changed, unlawfully denying the owner access.

Officers have arrested a male for the offence of keeping a brothel used for prostitution and an investigation continues. The male arrested has now been bailed to return to a police station in the future.

Two females were present at the location and suitable safeguarding measures were put in place.

The owner was handed back the property.

The MPS are committed to targeting offenders who look to exploit and profit from women and girls and will not tolerate this sort of behaviour.
